Home Care Hidden Cameras Guard Against Theft and Reveal Patient Abuse

Wednesday, December 14th, 2011

The numerous news media reports of physical abuse and theft against elderly patients in senior care homes has driven concerned families to install an electronic safeguard to monitor the care a loved one is receiving.

Home care hidden cameras guard against theft and physical abuse by entrusted caregivers visiting the home of an ill elderly family member.  Visiting nurses and service personnel have been caught on camera being physically abusive towards patients.  Acts of theft by service personnel and health care workers has created a greater demand for home care hidden cameras and hidden cameras for nursing homes.

Home care hidden cameras guard against theft and physical abuse while providing video evidence of criminal acts to present to law enforcement.  Families have greater peace-of-mind because any acts of physical abuse by hired health care workers entering the home or the room of a patient at a senior care facility can be monitored and immediately addressed.

In addition to home care hidden cameras guarding against theft, elderly abuse and patient abuse home care hidden cameras can reveal if a visiting nurse is arriving at the scheduled time to the home of a loved one.

Why Families Need Hidden Cameras In Nursing Home

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

There have been countless news reports about hidden cameras in nursing home recording abuse of elderly patients they were entrusted to provide safety and nurturing care. The following information emphasizes the importance of being vigilant about the safety of loved ones and how hidden cameras in nursing home can help guard against elderly abuse.

Driven by a mistrust of nursing homes, more families are taking advantage of advances in surveillance technology and using video cameras to help protect loved ones they suspect are being abused or mistreated by caregivers.

Even some facility managers and law enforcement officials are now using hidden cameras in nursing home to catch workers who mistreat elderly or vulnerable residents.  No figures are available, but specialist in the long-term care industry say the use of so-called “granny cams” is spreading, though the technology is also raising a host of legal and privacy issues.

Just this spring, an Ohio man placed a hidden camera in a desk fan to catch two nursing home workers abusing and hitting his 78-year -old mother, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease.  In New Jersey, workers were caught abusing an 87-year-old woman, prompting a wrongful-death lawsuit in June.  In New York, authorities arrested 22 workers last year after hidden cameras revealed maltreatment of residents in two facilities.

Georgia Anetzberger, president-elect of the National Committee for the Prevention of Elder Abuse, said the spread of cameras in nursing homes is a part of a broader proliferation of video surveillance in society to catch anything from traffic violations to shoplifting.

“Cameras are used to catch people more than ever before, not just because the technology is there but because it’s more widely accepted,” she said.

For years, however, the long-term-care industry has fought legislative efforts across the United States to legalize the use of cameras, citing insurance costs and resident and employee privacy issues.  Critics said cameras would make it more difficult to hire staff and they also could misrepresent an incident.

The push to install video cameras in long-term-care facilities started to gain momentum a decade ago.  Legislation was introduced in more than 15 states, but only three-Texas, New Mexico and Maryland-adopted laws addressing the use of cameras in nursing homes, according to 2007 article in the Baylor Law Review.

In Texas, which approved the use of cameras in 2001, nursing-home residents and their families appreciate having the right to use the  technology, said Patty Ducayet, the states’s long-term-care ombudsman.  She said use has been limited, but she believes cameras provide a benefit.

“I really do think it is a deterrent,” Ducayet said. “I think it does have the potential to influence the way someone behaves and cares for you in the privacy of your room.”

In New Mexico, residents must be notified of their right to have a camera when they move into a facility.

“As it turns out, it hasn’t been a big issue from the providers’ standpoint,” said Linda Sechovec, executive director with the New Mexico Health Care Association, an industry trade group that represents nursing homes. “It hasn’t been something that is widespread.  I think in general, families don’t want to intrude (on their loved ones) with cameras unless there’s a real serious concern.”

Violett King, one of the leading advocates for using cameras, believes they are “the only solution” for family members who can’t be present 24 hours a day.  King founded the non-profit advocacy group Nursing Home monitors in 19996 after her father suffered abuse while in a facility.

To try to demonstrate the effectiveness of such cameras, King’s group recruited residents in more than a dozen facilities in the early 2000s.  The group offered to pay for the cameras, but the effort fizzled.  King, based in Illinois, said the homes often resisted or intimidated residents and their families who wanted to participate.

But King things the climate for cameras has improved.  ”I think people are more aware of what’s going on in nursing homes,” she said.

Not all resident advocates believe cameras are the best way to protect the elderly.

Harbir Kaur, an abuse-prevention expert with ElderCare Rights Alliance in Minnesota, said there are better tools: training, education and empowering consumers through strong resident and family councils.

Kaur thinks residents have the right to use a camera, but she is worried that widespread use of the technology would turn nursing facilities into highly monitored zones with less privacy and dignity. However, hidden cameras in nursing home has brought many concerned families greater peace-of-mind. With hidden cameras in nursing home, families can be certain that the facility is safe for loved ones and that employees are providing the nurturing care expected.

How A Woman Can Disguise Her Voice As a Man

Sunday, November 6th, 2011

Today’s technology can help a woman or anyone disguise their voice. The following story is just one example of how the Telephone Voice Changer was used…

Bleary-eyed, Casey strolled in to the office, clutching a cup of coffee.  She almost stumbled over her friend Jen at the elevator.

“I’m so sorry,” Casey apologized, “This guy keeps calling me at three in the morning.  Every night, he tries to tell me these nasty things.  I keep hoping he’ll stop, but he doesn’t!”

Jen clucked, “I bet the phone company said they couldn’t do anything about it, huh?”

“Yeah,” Casey explained, “since he’s not actually threatening me, and he’s blocking his caller ID, they’re helpless.  They actually told me to turn off my ringer.  I can’t do that!  What if there’s an emergency when the kids are at their dad’s?”

“The same thing happened to me last year,” whispered Jen.  ”Wanna know how I got rid of the guy?”

Jen told Casey how her old college roommate told her about the Pretender Voice Changer.

She loved her new apartment, but wasn’t so crazy about the neighborhood.  Since the voice changer made it sound like a burly man lived at her place, she thought it would be perfect if someone buzzed her doorbell late at night.

“Instead,” Jen said, “this jerk starts calling my number ALL THE TIME.  I’d get messages from him all day long, but I don’t think he had the guts to actually call me at night.  So I took a personal day, got myself a good book and settled in next to the phone.”

“So what happened,” asked Casey.

“Sure enough, the guy calls,” Jen said, “and I answer, “hello, this is Mark.”

Casey gasped, “what did he do?”

“He just gulped and said he had the wrong number,” Jen replied.

Casey puzzled, “the guy didn’t know you were a woman?”

“He had no clue,” exclaimed Jen, “because it sounds so real. I’ve got it on my answering machine, if you want to hear it.”

Jen whipped out her cell phone and dialed her home number, handing the phone to Casey as it rang.  When the machine picked up, Casey’s eyes bulged with surprise.

“No way,” Casey gasped. “There’s no way that’s your voice.  You sound like a guy!”

“It’s great,” Jen confessed, “though I did have to explain to my Mom why some guy was answering my phone.  But it gets better.  The guy called back one more time.”

“What’d you do?” asked Casey?

“This time, I pressed the button that made it sound like I had a baby crying in the background,” giggled Jen.  ”I switched on my male voice and told him that I’d better not find the guy that woke up my kid.  I swear I heard him drop the phone, he tried to hang up so fast!”

You demand the best – And we deliver,

P.S. Whether you’re gathering important evidence or simply protecting yourself by recording phone calls and conversations, you can get great sound quality in a small package without the hassles of cassette tapes.

Surveillance System Records Attempted Burglary of Home

Saturday, March 19th, 2011

St Louis homeowner’s surveillance system captures attempted break-in of home. The home was occupied by her son at the time yet these thugs were bold enough to stare at the camera and return later to kick a door in to gain access to the home. Residents must be vigilant about protecting their family from being victimized by thugs and having their property stolen by thieves.

A complete DVR surveillance system installed around the outside perimeter of your home and keeping a couple of super sized pepper gel canisters at strategic places in the home, will help safeguard you and your family against a home invasion.

Install Complete Surveillance Systems To Continuously Record All Activity

Saturday, February 26th, 2011

When my friend started to establish the first of many stores, He was quite thrilled to get everything underway.  But he quickly realized that he required a way to digitally record all activity that went on within his stores first before he went ahead with opening it to the public.

The threats of shoplifting and burglary were very real especially in the more remote places of Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he set up his first outlet.  He pursued complete surveillance systems that were economical and yet effective.

Having a whole set of cameras with DVR allows him to have all around protection at a discounted price instead of buying each item separately. All cameras are also networkable and would send all footage to one source for easy viewing.

He came across the 4 channel wired DVR System while seeking complete surveillance systems.  This surveillance system can handle 4 cameras that are all wired into one embedded DVR that grants me access to view on a 17 – inch monitor.

The 4 Channel wired USB DVR Complete System has a wired USB DVR for those moments that he desired to digitally record all activity and view them on his computer.  It is more suitable for those times when he is not at the store himself.

The 8 channel wireless DVR Complete System, on the other hand, lets him digitally record all activity from more locations.  With 4 wired and 4 wireless cameras, he could have more flexibility when monitoring his stores.

As his business grew and he added another store, the ability to watch over both became important.  With the 8 Channel portable DVR System, I could do just that.  With a simple configuration of software, he’s able to keep track of whatever goes on inside both branches.

Building up his business was made easier by these systems.  He has have peace of mind knowing that he can digitally record all activity and view them all at the same time.

Reliable Hidden Surveillance Cameras For Home

Thursday, February 24th, 2011

My wife and I had been distrustful of the nanny.  We had a feeling that she was being abusive to our two year old son whenever we were away.  There was a time when we noticed a bruise on his leg but did not buy her story that our child had bumped into a table by accident.  We wanted to prove that she was abusive by installing hidden surveillance cameras for home use.

Anyone would not recognize our security camera designed as an alarm clock.  It was actually an alarm clock hidden camera with DVR that can keep tabs on activity in a particular area.  It was so inconspicuous that the nanny did not have the slightest idea that she was being monitored.

On the first few days after we purchased hidden surveillance cameras for home security, there were no signs that the nanny was doing anything horrendous.  But only a week later, we found out that the nanny slapped our child whenever he was crying.

We were enraged after we saw the video captured by our alarm clock hidden camera with DVR.  My wife was so furious that she attacked the nanny after confronting her. I too was very angry so totally understood.

The hidden surveillance cameras for home installation that we selected served their purpose.  Without these spy cameras, there was no way for us to catch the nanny and her devious ways.  covert cameras helped us spare our child from experiencing more abuse so there was no doubt that we appreciate these purchases made on the Internet.

Our alarm clock hidden camera with DVR makes use of motion-activated technology, which means that we need not keep trying to fast-forward to clips involving real action.  The camera will start recording only when it detects movement, saving us time and energy for reviewing videos.  The recordings can be viewed on our laptop using the included SD card or on a TV monitor by connecting  to the camera using its RCA cable.

We further really liked that we got hidden surveillance cameras for home safety that can be configured to record at certain time.  This allowed us to set the spy cameras to begin recording at 8AM in the morning.

With the assistance  that hidden surveillance cameras have provided to us, there is little doubt that they rank as some of the most ideal home security devices, especially parents who want to protect their infant from any form of child abuse.

This disturbing video really hit home and wonder what other abuse took place away from the view of the hidden surveillance camera. Working parents must do what they can to safeguard their children from an abusive nanny or babysitter.

Recording Spy Camera Images Will Go Unnoticed Via DVR Concealed Cameras

Friday, December 31st, 2010

The following demonstrates how surveillance technology is assisting business owners today…

Our employees are giving me something to think about.  All day long, our delivery boys are out delivering goods to our clients.  So busy at their tasks, all our employees seem to be.  But there is something that is going on that I can’t really explain.

I am not really sure if all their hours are spent in work-related activities alone.  I just acquired this company and now I have to make sure that all their company time is spent only for work.

The way I could determine this was suggested by a friend connected with a security company.  He informed me that recording spy camera images is the method companies usually resort to.

I will need to put in specific locations DVR hidden cameras, he told me.  The first one he suggested was the DVR Air Purifier hidden camera.

The recording spy camera can capture every event that happens in the office while I am not there.  It can also be remotely controlled so they will not notice.

The Car Key Hidden camera with audio can be used by my personal driver as he accompanies the delivery boys in their rounds to record their conversations.  I can assign him to do this periodically.  Even as the recording spy camera acquires their images, their voices will also be recorded.

The DVR Exit Sign Color Hidden Camera was also one of the DVR hidden cameras that he recommended.  This will be used for recording spy camera images of those who are coming in late or going out early, and loitering employees.

He also suggested the DVR Wall Clock Color Hidden Camera which I will put in the conference room.  I can see whether they are there for office tasks or just personal activities.  All of these DVR hidden cameras are easily connected to a computer monitor or a TV for video playback and all have SD cards for recording the video.
